Frequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers to common questions about how coaching with Magali Raybaud can support your parenting journey. These responses aim to help you understand the process and benefits before starting.
What is a Parent Coach?
A parent coach supports you to understand what’s really going on beneath your child’s behaviour, and how you can respond in a way that feels calm, confident, and aligned with the parent you want to be.
My work is grounded in child development, attachment research, and nervous-system science. Together, we look at patterns, triggers, and expectations within your family, and build practical skills that support connection, boundaries, and emotional safety.
This isn’t about fixing your child. It’s about equipping you with clarity, language, and leadership so everyday parenting moments feel more manageable and make more sense, whilst going away with practical tools that can be implemented to suit your family personally.
What can I expect from a coaching session?
Each coaching session is a professional, confidential space designed around you.
This is a place where you can think out loud, be heard, and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface of your parenting experience. For some parents, sessions feel light and reflective. For others, they offer space to pause, release emotion, or gain clarity around a specific challenge. There’s no right way for a session to look — we shape it together based on what supports you best.
Alongside that ease, the work is intentional and focused. We’ll look at your child’s behaviour through a developmental and emotional lens, explore what’s being activated for you as a parent, and build practical tools you can use in everyday moments at home.
Sessions are always non-judgemental, structured, and confidential. You’ll leave with greater clarity, grounded insight, and support you can carry into real life.
How long does the coaching last?
That depends on the level of support you’re looking for.
Some parents book a single session for clarity around a specific challenge. Others choose ongoing coaching or a structured programme to create deeper, longer-term change in how they show up as parents.
We’ll always talk about what feels appropriate for you, your family, and your capacity. There’s no pressure to commit beyond what feels supportive.
Who is parent coaching for?
This coaching is well suited to parents who feel open to learning, reflection, and personal growth.
If you’re curious about what sits beneath behaviour, willing to explore your own responses as a parent, and open to being gently challenged in service of meaningful change, this work can be deeply supportive. It invites a shift away from the idea that your child is the problem to be solved, and towards a broader understanding of what your child may be communicating — and how you can respond with clarity and confidence.
My parenting coaching is rooted in child development, attachment science, emotional intelligence, and nervous-system awareness. These foundations guide everything I teach and ensure the work is both compassionate and grounded in evidence.
You don’t need to be perfect, or to have all the answers. What matters is a willingness to stay curious, to reflect inwardly, and to approach parenting as an evolving relationship — one that supports growth for both you and your child.
How do I schedule a session?
You can book sessions directly through the website or contact Magali for personalized scheduling. Flexible times are available to accommodate busy family routines. What if I’m unsure coaching is right for me?
That’s completely normal.
Many parents reach out because something doesn’t feel sustainable anymore, even if they can’t quite name why. Coaching is a supportive space to explore that uncertainty, not a commitment to having all the answers.
If you’d like to talk things through before booking, you can get in touch and we can discuss whether this feels like the right next step for you.
Is coaching different to therapy?
Yes.
Parent coaching is present- and future-focused. We work with what’s happening now in your family and support you to make practical, meaningful changes moving forward.
Therapy often focuses more deeply on past experiences or clinical mental health concerns. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, and it can sit alongside therapy if you’re already working with a therapist.
If something comes up that would be better supported by therapy or another professional, I will always guide you with care and honesty.
Is coaching online or in person?
Coaching is primarily offered online via zoom sessions, which allows flexibility and ease for busy parents. Many families find this works beautifully, as it means support can fit around real life without the need for travel or childcare arrangements.
For parents based in West London, in-person walking sessions in select parks can be available depending on the type of coaching and current capacity. If this is something you’re interested in, you’re welcome to get in touch to explore what might be possible.
Both formats offer the same level of care, professionalism, and depth. What matters most is creating a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and able to get the most out of the work.
How soon might I notice changes at home?
Many parents notice early shifts in their own understanding and responses, often before their child’s behaviour changes. As those responses become calmer and more intentional, children often respond in turn.
The pace and depth of change depends on your level of engagement and the type of support you choose. Ongoing coaching or structured programmes tend to support more noticeable and lasting change than a single session, simply because there’s more time to build understanding, practise new skills, and reflect.
There’s no rush. This work unfolds at your pace, with progress shaped by what you bring into the process and how you choose to be supported.
